With that in mind, let's comb through some more of the endless ocean of isekai series and pick out some of the best that deserve anime adaptations. Updated March 26th, 2023 by Jacob Buchalter: Since this list was first fully written, a lot of the isekai manga that was previously on here (and even some fan-favorite shonen series)have fortunately been adapted into fully-fledged anime such as Black Summoner, Campfire Cooking in Another World, and Reincarnated as a Sword. Thankfully, there is still quite a few amazing isekai manga to pick from as far as future adaptations go. There are standouts such as Re: Zero, Reincarnated As A Slime, or more recently The Faraway Paladin, but those are few and far between. Featuring protagonists who suddenly find themselves in new or strange situations, most of these stories feel like they’re all cut from the same cloth. As things currently are, there’s some new isekai show every season (or multiple). The isekai genre of anime is far past the point of over-saturation.
